Surgery Center Manufacturer Payments
The money table. CMS publishes Open Payments as a 7.6 GB CSV with 14.5 million rows — physicians and payments, no facility context. We JOIN it through a physician-ASC crosswalk (built from NPPES address matching) to produce the dataset no one else ships: manufacturer → payment → physician → surgery center → geography. 3 million payment records across 10,393 ASCs, 110,368 physicians, and 1,414 manufacturers.

Raw CMS Open Payments General Payment file (Program Year 2023, 14.5M records) is downloaded, pruned from 70+ columns to 12 core fields, and ingested into the Goldframe warehouse. A physician-ASC crosswalk is built by address-matching individual physician NPIs in the 9.4M-row NPPES file against the 14,416-facility ASC registry.
The Forge Layer: The crosswalk JOIN produces a denormalized money table with facility name, city, state, and ZIP on every payment record. 85.5% of ASCs (10,393 of 14,416) have at least one linked physician with payment data. Device-specific segmentation isolates the MedTech subset: 725K records, $462M, 660 device companies.
